OUR STORY

It started with a gift.

I was about four years old and living in Morocco when my aunt in Holland gave me trousers, a belt and a jacket with comic logos. Those logos were the "wow" of that time, and those clothes became my favourite. I never forgot them.

From then on, clothes mattered to me. I asked my parents for them, and I didn't wear clothes I didn't like. As I grew up, my taste turned quieter: I never liked big logos, I loved a minimal, old money style, and I always combined colours.

At eighteen I went to Italy, and Milan inspired me a lot. At twenty-six I made Holland my home. Since then I have followed fashion in Europe's capitals, and Paris Fashion Week is one of my favourite events.

The clothes I wore as a young man, I could wear today and they would still look elegant. That is what timeless means to me.

Zemrane is the village in Morocco where my grandparents come from.

Our label, Zemrane, carries the same idea: minimal design, no loud logos, colours that work together, and pieces you will still reach for years from now.
